Coffeehouse Addicts..

[mood |okayokay]
[music |Feeder - Piece by Piece]

Hi there. I've just joined.

I've been drinking coffee since I was about 12...I'm now 21 (well almost). I absolutely love a good coffee, there's nothing better when you need to be perked up. I cannot resist coffee in the morning. Its amaaaazing.

I used to drink Nescafe all the time..but over the past few years, I realised how disgusting it is..and I can only ever drink real Italian coffee now.

I currently work at a British coffee chain called Costa Coffee :)

My favorite drink is a Soy Mocha. Its far too addictive. But Soy lattes are good as well :) Mmmm...I really want a coffee now, JUST from talking about it. Chocolate covered coffee beans are also just amazing... coffee taste with chocolate as well, mmmmmmmm!

By the way, I didnt ever think I was addicted to coffee, until a few months ago when I decided it would be good for my health to stop drinking caffiene..and I switched to tea. All was going fine, until one day I decided to treat myself. I havent been off it since. I cant..its too good. Yum! I dont get shakes/twitches or anything if I dont have coffee, but I always feel like I NEED it, you know?

Hi, I'm new, and I would just like to say how coffee has helped me to stay up and study for procrastinated tests and finals. I'm extremely proud and happy.

hey! im new, my name is allison and i just joined the community. i was looking for a community who shared my coffee obsession. (to read more about me-my old LJ is greendayrox2007).

i work at dunkin donuts and i am in love with thier iced coffee and regular hot coffee. i dont really like their expresso at all, so i go to starbucks for iced or hot lattes and of course frappuchinos. my favorite frappuchino is the coffee and my favorite latte is the vanilla latte. thats just a tad about my coffee preferences.

I need your experience for a new Starbucks book! [Dec. 17th, 2005|10:55 pm]
Coffeehouse Addicts..
Green Apron Book, Coffee Master, and Customer Resistance Experiences needed!

If you are a Starbucks fan, you may have heard about a new book being written in conjunction with the company (for example, it has been discussed at Starbucks gossip)! I am the author. I am focusing the book at the Starbucks store level. Its deadline is February 1,06 and it is scheduled to be published in the fall by McGraw-Hill. I have all the requisite permissions from Starbucks corporate for partners to participate. Please check out the following (http://www.starbucksstories.com/Starbucks%20permission.pdf) or email me at josephm@lessonsforsuccess.com. You can also contact Chris Gorley - cgorley@starbucks.com with questions about your possible involvement in the book.

I am giving Starbucks gift cards and copies of the book if your experience is included in the book.

As I approach deadline, I would appreciate your assistance. If possible would you share with me experiences you have had (either from the partner or customer side) that:

1)capture the essence of the 5 ways of being (welcoming, genuine, considerate, knowledgeable, involved). Maybe it was a partner who excelled at being knowledgeable, with a customer for example.
2)show how information gained through the coffee master training translated into a benefit to the customer or generally how a knowledgeable partner affected a customer
3) situations where an angry, disgruntled, or resistant customer had their experience turned into a positive one.

This book (working title the Starbucks Success Blend) pays tribute to the uniquely customer driven behavior of Starbucks baristas. The more you share the better I will be able to capture the incredible Starbucks experience. Respectfully, Joseph A Michelli, Ph.D. www.starbucksstories.com

Hello Community. I just joined, my name is Lia. I'm a newly-made barista at a new coffee shop in Planation, Florida called Cort's Coffeehouse (If you live in the area you should pop in, its a nice place and everyone says they have great drinks!) I'm not a coffee drinker myself (gasp, i know.) but I do like making the drinks.

I was just wondering, what are some of your favorite drinks? And how do you make 'em? I'm curious on learning to make different drinks, and if you're willing to share that would be great.

I don't have much to say, but I thought I'd just introduce myself. I'm a strange 16 year old, who dreams of one day owning the most interesting and diverse coffee shop in the world. I'm currently gathering information on what works/dosn't work in coffee houses, and on the history and variety of the bean itself.
Don't be suprised if you see more of me!

Finally - a fix for my fiendish ways: http://www.girlnoise.com
I downloaded one of the coffee house tracks and put it on my iPod for work. If only they'll upload more tracks soon...
I knew that it wasn't only the iced mochas that kept me coming back.
